Why lockdown could be the perfect time to get creative in your park home

It’s fair to say that lockdown has not unfolded as anyone predicted and many have found themselves with more time on their hands than usual, and nowhere to go. For lots of us that’s meant a chance to do some work in the garden or some decorating at home. Don’t forget about your park home – lockdown is an ideal time to revamp your park home too.

A residential park home can be convenient, not to mention affordable, and both of those reasons are worthy of some careful thought and attention. Most Gloucestershire park homes will be furnished before residents move in but that doesn’t prevent you from making it your own. And when it comes to personalising your space, there are no rules!

Storage

Make sure you have plenty of storage. Especially in a smaller space, clutter can gather very quickly and make the space look even more restricted. This is a higher risk when downsizing, so look for the hidden space, under beds and inside wardrobes. Where things must be on display, if they are not part of a curated space, choose some pretty storage boxes to keep mess at bay.

Bouncing mirrors around your interior is a classic yet effective way of creating the illusion of space. Fix them opposite windows and reflect the natural light around your space and make it appear bigger.

There is usually plenty of green space surrounding Gloucestershire park homes but that shouldn’t stop you using houseplants as accessories inside. They’re the perfect way to add a splash of colour and texture to your living space, as well as the more practical use of purifying the air by absorbing any pollutants.

Lighting

If you are willing to invest in a revamp of your park home, then lighting is an effective way to create a completely new look that is versatile and flexible. Lamps are a good place to start because there are so many different shapes and sizes. Lamps can also be used to add texture and colour to enhance the rest of your scheme.

Avoid going too matchy matchy with your colour scheme – break it up a bit so it doesn’t look too forced because that can make the space look smaller. A theme isn’t necessary but adding some personality to your space is a good thing.
