The hairstyle is a fundamental component of the look. In fact, even if we dress in a particular way, the haircut remains what immediately catches the eye of the beholder. The length of the hair should therefore not be neglected, as it grows, it gets messy and becomes uncontrollable. Obviously, you can’t always go to the hairdresser or barber, as it can get very expensive. In aid of the lovers of the look cured, come the hair clippers. These aren’t super easy to use, as they require some practice. But once you get the hang of it, you will see that you will save a lot of time and money. In the following guide, I will explain how to use hair clippers.
There are many models of hair clippers on the market, from the cheapest to the professional ones that have a higher price. My advice is not to trust cheap products, as you lose a lot in terms of quality. Furthermore, cutting hair is a precision job, so if you decide to buy a poorly performing one, the result could be unprofessional. Therefore aiming at a well-known brand that you can rely on. Once you have chosen your hair clipper, make sure you have everything you need and get started.

Prepare the hair
The first thing you need to do is to prepare the hair. Start washing your hair and dry it well with a hairdryer. This will make your work easier, as clean hair allows you to slide the machine better. Never use the appliance with wet hair, as this would be dangerous and the clipper would stop working. After that, put a towel over your shoulders to avoid getting dirty with any hairs that will slip during the cut. Comb your hair and remove the knots. Once this is done, check that the machine is clean, perfectly oiled and go on to choose the comb to use for cutting.
Choose the comb
At this point, move on to choosing the comb of the hair clipper. The machine generally has different combs depending on the centimeters to be cut. So choose the head that best suits your needs and arm yourself with patience and precision. Usually, the combs that are supplied in the package show different and standard sizes. The latter start from three to twelve millimeters. In fact, although the measurement can be pre-set, there will still be a difference of a few millimeters depending on the pressure used. So try to be constant in the pressure and have a steady hand. Some machines also have a speed regulator: so increase it when you have to treat large spaces and then decrease it when you have to define the details.
Cut your hair
Finally, you can start cutting your hair. First, choose which are the points where to intervene: in fact, it is possible to shave the whole head or choose the sides. In case you want to cut the hair evenly all over the head, then set ahead with the desired size and start using the machine from the forehead going backward. Then move to the sides and finally to the back. The latter is the most difficult to deal with, so use a double mirror so you can see behind it. If, on the other hand, you only have to cut the sides, then use a lower speed and, always with the double mirror, define the details well. If you need to make a regular cut, do not press the clipper excessively and use a gentle movement, without forcing. It is also essential to comb the hair, following the direction of growth. Finally, to adjust the contours, remove the combs and place the lever in shaving mode. Finally, cut the contours of the hair as you wish.
You can initially get someone to help you until you have a steady hand. Before starting your cut, clean the accessories and the body of the clipper with a dry cloth. For blended cuts, use combs for shorter cuts. For the brush cut, use the standard comb of the machine, avoiding hooking combs.
